John J. Connelly (ca. 1923-1929-August 17, 2013 in Needham, Massachusetts) was the head coach for Northeastern University's Northeastern Huskies baseball team from 1956 to 1981. He was nicknamed "Tinker". Early life Connelly graduated Newton High School in 1946. He attended Northeastern University, where he played football as a quarterback, hockey as a defenseman and baseball as a second baseman. He led the football team to an undefeated season in 1951 and was captain of the 1952 baseball team. He graduated in 1953. Coaching career His career record with the team was 288-280-6. He was named the New England Coach of the Year in 1964. He led the Huskies to the College World Series in 1966. John Michael Connelly (18 July 1938 – 25 October 2012) was an English footballer. He played as an outside forward and was capped 20 times for his country. Burnley Connelly began his playing career with St Helens Town in the Lancashire Combination. In November 1956, scouts from Burnley came to watch another player, but were so impressed by Connelly that he was offered a trial with Burnley, and subsequently made a permanent move to the club, who were then playing in the English top division. He made his debut away from home against Leeds United on 11 March 1957. It took two seasons for Connelly to gain a permanent place in the Burnley first team, which he did in the 1958–59 season, scoring 12 goals from 37 appearances, and ending the season as the team's second top scorer. He was predominantly a right winger who could also play on the left. John Connelly (born July 28, 1962) is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of New York City thrash metal band Nuclear Assault. Biography Connelly started as a roadie for thrash metal band Anthrax where he became a close friend of Anthrax bassist Danny Lilker. He formed the band Nuclear Assault in 1983, and Lilker, having left Anthrax, joined him soon after. In 1986, Connelly was a guest vocalist on ''Immaculate Deception'', the first album by New York hardcore band Ludichrist and again on a track called "Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom" from the 1989 Scatterbrain album ''Here Comes Trouble''. Around 1991, Connelly saw fit to take a break from Nuclear Assault, and released a low profile solo record under the name John Connelly Theory, entitled ''Back to Basics''. John Connelly (prospector)
John Francis Connelly (1860–1928) was an Australian prospector and mine owner. Born in Victoria, he prospected and owned mines in New South Wales. He discovered a platinum field at Fifield before joining the gold rush to Cossack, Western Australia in 1889. He discovered the Nannine gold field the following year, and was rewarded by the Government of Western Australia with £500. Later, he prospected in New Guinea and New Zealand. He died in 1928, and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia. Connelly was also an active collector of Australian Aboriginal artefacts. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) John Bowden Connally Jr. (February 27, 1917June 15, 1993) was an American politician. He served as the 39th governor of Texas and as the 61st United States secretary of the Treasury. He began his career as a Democrat and later became a Republican in 1973. Born in Floresville, Texas, Connally pursued a legal career after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. During World War II, he served on the staff of James Forrestal and Dwight D. Eisenhower before transferring to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. After the war, he became an aide to Senator Lyndon B. Johnson. When Johnson assumed the vice presidency in 1961, he convinced President John F. Kennedy to appoint Connally to the position of United States Secretary of the Navy. Connally left the Kennedy Administration in December 1961 to run for Governor of Texas, and he held that position from 1963 to 1969.
